When can I check in? *Our check-in time is 3:00 p.m. EST.  If you would like to check in earlier, please call ahead for availability.  Early check-ins are dependant on housekeeping and occupancy and are not guaranteed. When is check-out? *Check-out is at 10:00 a.m. EST. Where do I check in? *Please check-in at our bar, located in the main restaurant building.  Our staff will be happy to help you. What is the best way to make a reservation?  Can I book online? *Please call us at 906-387-3559 for reservations and to check availability.  At this time, we do not accept online reservations. Do I need a credit card for a reservation?  Can I pay cash for my stay? *We require a credit card to reserve rooms or lodges and to cover incidental costs.  No charges are made to your card until your arrival.  You are welcome to pay cash or use a different credit card when you arrive. Do you have a minimum length of stay for reservations? *Motel rooms can be rented daily.  Lodges must be booked by the week during the snowmobile season (Lodge 1 is booked Sunday to Sunday and Lodge 2 is Saturday to Saturday) and have a 3-night minimum the remainder of the year. How do I make group lodging reservations? *We will hold the rooms under one name for an agreed upon amount of time, wherein the individual group members will call to give us their specific information.  This keeps one person from your group from being financially responsible for the whole group, unless that is requested. How can I get an email confirmation of my reservation? *Please send us an email at lifeisgood@buckhornresort.com with the name on your reservation and the date and we will be happy to reply. What is your cancellation policy? *Reservations cancelled within the 72-hour window of your scheduled stay, or a failure to notify the Buckhorn that a reservation will not be honored, may be charged the equivalent of a one-night stay. What if I choose to leave early? *In the event of an early departure, no cash or credit will be returned.  With extenuating circumstances, a credit voucher may be issued to put toward a future visit. What is your late check-out policy? *Late check-out requests can be made on the day of departure before 10:00am and are dependent on availablity and occupancy.  A check-out time of 3:00pm or later is subject to additional charges. Is there a continental breakfast? *A simple continental breakfast is provided for our Motel guests from 7:30 to 10:00 a.m.  It is located in the restaurant building off of our lobby and usually includes cereals, bagels, etc.  Continental breakfast is not included with lodge reservations, as there are full kitchens in each lodge. Is there Wi-Fi at the Buckhorn Resort? *Wi-Fi is available thoughout the restaurant, motel, and Lodge 2.  Unfortunately, due to location, there is no Wi-Fi available at Lodge 1.  Please keep in mind our remote location and appreciate the challenges we face trying to keep these systems running. Will my cell phone work?  Are there landlines? *Cell phone service in the Hiawatha National Forest is unreliable and spotty at best.  We have boosters located in the restaurant to help provide a stronger and more reliable signal.  There are no landlines in the motel rooms or lodges. Are there campfire pits or grills on site? *There is a charcoal grill and a campfire pit located at each lodge and near the motel for guest use during non-snow seasons.  Charcoal, firewood, and utensils are not provided. Are there laundry services on-site? *No, however there is a laundromat on Mill Street in Munising. Can I smoke in the Buckhorn? *Michigan state law prohibits smoking in public establishments, including restaurants, motels, & lodges.  This law includes e- cigarettes and vaping.  Please be respectful of others and be aware of open windows.  Please dispose of your cigarette ends and other garbage responsibly.  If you are found to have been smoking in your motel room or lodge, we will assess a deep cleaning charge equivalent to one night’s accommodation. What if I leave something in my room or lodge after check-out? *Please double-check for personal property at the time of your departure.  If something gets left behind, please contact us and we will work to send it back to you.  We simply ask for payment for postage.  Unclaimed items are disposed of after 14 days. What is provided in the lodges? *The lodges come with bed linens and towels, a full kitchen (oven/stove, refrigerator, microwave, and coffeemaker) with dishes, utensils, and a fan.  Dish soap and toilet paper are also provided.  Please bring your own food and favoite kitchen gadgets that you plan to use.  There are often slow cookers and pancake griddles in the lodges, but we cannot gaurantee it.  There is no housekeeping during your stay, but fresh towels can be provided upon request.  What is provided in the motel rooms? *Motel rooms have a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, and fan.  The bathrooms come with towels, shampoo, and soap.  Housekeeping is done daily.  Are the motel rooms or lodges air conditioned? *No.  Each room and lodge have a fan provided.  If you are concerned about temperatures, especially in the lodges, plan accordingly and bring extra fans.  Nighttime temperatures in our area during the summer are normally in the 50’s. Do you have hair dryers or irons/ironing boards in the rooms or lodges? *No.  Please bring your own if you need one. Do you have ice available? *Ice is available in the bar/restaurant.  Please ask a server. Will my truck & trailer fit in your parking lot? *We have plenty of parking.  Please ask at the time of check-in if unsure as to where to park, especially during snowplow season. Do you accept pets? *Yes.  Please refer to our Pet Policy page for more information. Do you have camping available? *Sorry, we do not. 
What are your hours? *Our grill is open from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. serving lunch and dinner.  We are open every day with the exception of Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.  The bar stays open until at least 10:00 p.m. and remains open as needed. Do you serve breakfast? *Our restaurant does not serve breakfast.  However, there is a simple continental breakfast available for our Motel guests. Do you host parties in the restaurant? *We have a semi-private dining area that seats approximately 40 people.  We are able to offer larger groups buffet options with advanced planning.  Please contact us for availability, menu options, and more information. Do you take reservations for your restaurant? *Restaurant reservations are generally accepted daily until 6:00 p.m.  We will hold a table for up to 15 minutes after the reservation time.  The Buckhorn Resort reserves the right to limit or deny reservation requests at any time. Can we order food for take-out?  Do you deliver? *You can order take-out any time our kitchen is open, however we do not have delivery service. Do you sell gas? *Yes.  We have premium ethanol-free gas available for purchase. Do you have trail maps or passes? *We have trail maps available for purchase at the bar, however the Buckhorn Resort is not a DNR licensed agent so we do not sell trail passes.  Please purchase one along your way. How do I get to the Buckhorn? *Be careful using GPS!  Please see our driving directions under our Contact Us page.
